April BIG News!

This is Whitney posting.

The other day I woke up and I was feeling really dizzy.  I haven’t been feeling quite myself since then, so I decided to go to the doctor today.  And, well, I’m pregnant again.

So, the new baby is due December 10th, Alice will be 4 1/2, Liam will be 2 1/2, Amelia will be 11 months and then there is baby #4.

Wow… Drew and I are in for some fun years ahead.

All I can say is happy April fools day!

Polar Liam-Bear

Today was the first big snow of my life. Alice was at Gram’s house and stayed there since the weather was snowy. Mommy had to run to the store so she loaded me up in the car in my little bear snow suit. It was an adventure.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Today Mommy got home from a trip to Kansas City with Liam and it is her birthday.  We stopped by a grocery store and got Mommy a birthday cake.  She shared it with me at lunch!

Needless to say, I had a lot of fun with the chocolate icing.  I got so messy that I had to clean off in the sink.

That was fun too though!

Liam celebrated Mommy’s birthday too, but he was a little less messy.  He made a happy birthday face!

Spending the Day with Mommy and Celebrating Alice’s Birthday

Today I went to the office with Mommy. I got tired at one point and took a nap in my vibrating bouncy chair.

Mommy put me under her desk to keep me in a quiet place. I think it’s funny because it looks like she stashed me under there.

At school today, Alice celebrated her birthday with the kids in her class. She got to wear a crown and Mommy brought cheese and frosted animal crackers for snack.

Alice had fun and wore the crown around the house the rest of the week!

Lobie and Banana Bread

When Mommy was a little girl she had a blankie. It was kind of like mine because it had silky stuff on one side. She called it “Lobie” (pronounced low-bee). It used to be bigger, but when she was little, part of it got burned in the fireplace. Gram found it in her basement and brought it over to our house. Mommy wore it like a cape, just like she did when she was little.

I also got to eat some yummy banana bread that Mommy made. It is the same recipe that Gram made for Mommy when she was little. It was yummy.

Helping Mommy Cook Dinner

img_5008.JPG

I love helping Mommy in the kitchen. She lets me wash the veggies when she is cooking. Today, we were making pot roast and I washed the carrots and potatoes. Then, I got the sponge and was squeezing the water out of it, which was really fun. After Mommy peeled the carrots and potatoes, I thought they needed to be washed again, so I took care of that.

I was so busy; I thought I deserved a little treat, so I had a yummy sugar cookie with frosting on it. Man, cooking really wears a girl out!

Mommy’s Friend’s Wedding

img_3078.jpg

On Saturday Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Stacey, Aunt Jackee, Gram and PaPa went to a wedding for one of Mommy’s friends, Elena. Mommy knows Elena from The Sky’s The Limit, from a long time ago. Papa and Elena’s daddy started camp in 1986 together with some other pastors in Denver and the Anschutz Foundation.

img_3077.jpg

Over the years Mommy’s family and Elena’s family have stayed close friends, so it was exciting when they got invited to the wedding. Mommy said that it was one of the most fun and beautiful weddings she had ever been too. There was a full mariachi band and the bridal party looked beautiful. One of the coolest things were the lights hanging on the ceiling.

img_3069.jpg

I wish I could have been there, but I’m glad that Mommy and Daddy got to go share the day with Mommy’s friend.

Shoes and Peach Pits

Peach Pit

Today, Mommy and I made a peach-berry cobbler for a BBQ at her friend Emilie’s house. The picture above is a demonstration of the important work I was doing with Mommy to help. My main job was taking care of the peach pits. Mommy would cut the peaches and peel them and then I’d wash the pits really well for her. I also tried the pits to see what they were like. I thought they were good enough to share, so I gave some to Mommy.

When Daddy and Aunt Stacey came home from lunch, we all ate and then I thought it would be a good idea for everyone to take their shoes off, so I could try them on. First I wore Mommy’s flip-flops.

Here I am with Daddy’s socks on (Mommy wasn’t fast enough with the camera to get the shoes picture).

Finally, I wanted to wear Stacey’s flip-flops. It was fun to try on everyone’s shoes.

By the way, the cobbler turned out really good!
