Fun in a Box

A Blog about Liam and Alice

On the last morning we were at Shawn and Christina’s house. We got to play in the big box that Alyssa’s kitchen came in. We had a lot of fun playing hide and seek.

This morning Alyssa and I woke up and watched a little TV. She was sitting in her special chair and her Mommy got one out for me too.
We were really into the show. Later we went to the best place in the whole wide world. It was at the park and water was squirting out of everywhere.
We had so much fun! Uncle Shawn got in the water with us and held me up to feel the water by the giant bird.
There were really fun things on the ground that intermittently squirted water out and I sat and played with them for a while.
When we got home, we hadn’t had enough water time, so we played in the sprinklers in the yard.
Ok, I’m a tummy sleeper. And, I’m pretty cute if I say so myself!
Today we went to the homestead in Overland Park. I got to pet goats in the petting zoo.
Alyssa’s Mommy lifted us over the fence so we could see some other animals.
Then Daddy and I petted the big horses that were pulling a hayride for older animals.
There were so many fun things at the homestead. Right by the playground there was an area for us to splash in. We ate our sandwiches by the splash area.
There were teepees that we got to play in too.
Daddy and Liam hung out with us while we played, but Mommy said Liam is too little to play in the teepees with us.
It rained a little bit almost the whole time we were there, so it was not very hot and wasn’t too crowded. Mommy said it was the perfect day to be there. I fell asleep in the car before we even left the parking lot.
After we left Nanny and Grandpa Tom’s house we came to Kansas City to visit my cousin Alyssa. When we got here, I couldn’t believe that she had a pool too.
The cool thing about her pool is that it has a slide on the side. I
I’m so excited to play with her!
My sister Alice always wants to go outside to swim.
Since we’ve been in Missouri, she has been swimming every day.
While she does that, I’ve been spending time inside hanging out.
I love staring at the bugs on my car seat.
Alice also loves to watch the dogs eat. She has had fun playing with Bob and Sugar.
She wanted them to stop eating so they could play, but I’m pretty sure that their just about as likely to stop eating in the middle of things as I am!
I love to snuggle with Daddy in the morning after I eat. Mommy got this picture of Daddy and me while we were sleeping this morning.
We are in Missouri for a little vacation. We drove out in our new car. Daddy and Mommy got a new car that is bigger since our family is growing. When we got here Nanny and Grandpa Tom filled up the new little pool that they got just for me.

I had fun playing in it with Uncle Ryan, Nanny and Grandpa Tom. Nanny also made me a cake for my birthday party at her house.

It was a strawberry cake with yummy butter-cream icing. Nanny let me lick the spatula while she was making it. Daddy and Liam got to spend some time bonding in the rocking chair. We got to eat it at my early birthday party.
Grandma Bandy, Grammy and LD, Magda and Joe, Aunt Jenny, and Uncle Ryan and Andrea all came to celebrate with me.
I got some pretty fun stuff and got to be the center of attention.
They also came to see Liam and get a picture of us.
It was a fun day.
Lately I’ve been talking a lot about “play.”
Finally Mommy and Daddy figured out that I was talking about going to the playground in our neighborhood. Today the whole family walked up to the park and I got to play.
I played with a stick in the wood chips for a while.
I went down the big slide all by myself.
Liam hung out in the stroller.
Daddy played with me and helped me cross the bridge, because it was pretty slippery.
I had so much fun at the park that I didn’t want to leave, but Daddy said I had to go home and eat dinner.
When Mommy was a little girl she had a blankie. It was kind of like mine because it had silky stuff on one side. She called it “Lobie” (pronounced low-bee). It used to be bigger, but when she was little, part of it got burned in the fireplace. Gram found it in her basement and brought it over to our house. Mommy wore it like a cape, just like she did when she was little.

I also got to eat some yummy banana bread that Mommy made. It is the same recipe that Gram made for Mommy when she was little. It was yummy.
