Fun with Knitting Friends

Today is national knit in public day and Gram and Stacey spent time with some of their knitting friends doing just that.

I, on the other hand, went to the pool this morning with Mommy, her friend Joy, Joy’s baby James (who is only 7 weeks old and very tiny), and Karina. We had fun and I got to play with a bigger girl and a little girl in the little pool. It was nice because they had pool toys too, so there was lots of fun stuff to play with! After the pool we came back to the house for lunch and I took a nap while Mommy hung out with Joy and the baby. Soon we’re going to have a little baby like that in our house. That’s gonna be weird!

The most fun part of the day for me was when I got to go out to Grandma Sue’s house and have dinner at the Paradise Asian Cafe. I love eating rice and soy sauce almost more than anything else in the whole world.

While I waited for my food I got to draw on the place-mats. There are great pictures of animals on there and Daddy helped me by drawing more animals for me to color.

Stacey and her knitting friends were there too, but they had to sit at a different table than us, because there were too many people for one table. I had fun saying hi to Cyn Cyn, Michelle, Thomas and Aunt Stacey from my table. I love Saturdays, they’re so fun.

My Friend Cyrano

Today Mommy was home with me. We started the day by going by her office where I spent some time with Aunt Stacey, Suzy and Stephen. I also did some pretty serious coloring, That is my one of my favorite things to do lately. I will sometimes spend 30 minutes coloring in my coloring books at home. I sit and concentrate really hard while I color the smallest pebble or a characters eyes and nose. Even though I’m not totally inside the lines, Mommy thinks its pretty impressive.

Mommy would even admit, we stayed too long at the office. I was grumpy and hungry and was not wanting to do much of anything except for what I wanted (and not even I knew what that was). When I got home and got a drink and snack I was a little better, but I wasn’t totally fine until I got to watch a show. Mommy and I chilled and watched Nemo and then I got lunch and after my nap was a whole new girl.

After work Daddy got a ride home from Aunt Stacey and when they got there I was spending some quality time with my kitty cat, Cyrano. Stacey stayed with me while Mommy and Daddy went on a date. We ate dinner and had fun playing. Too bad Cyrano didn’t want to play with us too, but someday I know he’ll come around and love me as much as I love him. He is getting more and more friendly toward me all the time though, so I’m really encouraged!

Sweet, Stylin’ and Smart

My Mommy and Daddy tell me I am these things all the time. This morning I brought down my purse from my bedroom at breakfast time. (Mommy lets me play with some of her bags sometimes.) I spent some time after breakfast packing my purse. Mommy said that she and Gram both bite their tounges when they concentrate too.

When I was all packed, I put the purse over my shoulder…

and waived, “goodbye” to Mommy and Daddy. I wasn’t really going anywhere, but that’s what everyone else with a bag says, so I figure its the thing to do.

Once Gram got to my house we went in her car to the Library for “Story Box.” I was a little shy, because it was my first time back since last summer. Look at how little I was then!

But, by the end I got the hang of it and went up to the front to get my hand stamped with the other kids. After the books were all done, I got to play in a fun Castle with the other kids and Gram checked out a box of books about frogs and fish with a puppet in it.

I also found a book about Charlie and Lola, a favorite cartoon of mine. I spent some time making sure that I got all the right books before we came home. I had fun reading stories at the table with the bears!

Gram stayed at my house for dinner because Daddy started his last class tonight and Mommy sometimes needs help. I’m glad she stayed because I woke up crying about 9:45 and she came in and sat with me in my chair when I asked her to, “rock you.” I know Mommy really appreciated the help, since its harder and harder for her to rock me with Liam getting so big in her tummy. It will be nice for her to have a lap back soon!

My NEW Bed!

I finally got my new bed. Mommy and Daddy have been telling me that when Liam gets here that we are going to share a room. I could kind-of care less about that part of it, but I am excited that I got a NEW bed. My old bed is all ready for Liam with the cute elephant bedding that Mommy got from Aunt Stacey at Liam’s Baby shower.

Last weekend Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Stacey painted two of the walls in my room so that Liam would feel right at home in my space.

I had fun playing in my little pool on the patio with Grandma Sue and Grandpa while they finished up painting. It looks really good, and Grandma Sue took my curtains home to wash them for Mommy, so everything will look even better when they’re back up.

Once everything was back in the room, I crawled up on the side of Liam’s bed to check it out. I can barely see in it and have had fun showing people how the room looks now.

Liam’s Blankie and My New Little Pool

Mommy, Daddy, Stacey, Gram, Nanny, Uncle Ryan and his friend Andrea, and Grandma Sue have been working hard knitting mitered squares for my baby brother Liam’s blankie. They are almost done with all the squares. When Mommy was home with me last week we laid all the squares out on the table in little piles to see what they look like.

Then we laid out the almost 80 little squares on the table to see what the blanket will look like when Mommy sews it all together. You can see Cyrano laying in the sun. I love to pet Cyrano and give him hugs and kisses, even though he doesn’t really love it as much as I do.

Here is a close-up of the squares. This blanket is going to be so cute and cozy for Liam.

Later that day, after my nap, I got to play in my new pool. Its a “little one.” The water in it was still cold, so I didn’t really get a chance to sit in it and play, but I had fun anyway. I got to wear my new swimming suit and dip the little elephant watering can into the pool to water the patio.

Even though I kept saying, “Ooh, cold,” I didn’t want to come inside when it was time. I love to “play it!”

Nanny’s Watermelon Dress

Nanny gave me a dress with watermelons on it last year, but it didn’t fit me until this year. Here I am at lunchtime modeling the dress for Mommy and Daddy. I think that I look pretty cute
