Animals are my Favorite and my Best!

Mommy and Daddy decided to spend a fun family day with me today. The first thing we saw was a baby lion and its Mommy and Aunt sleeping in the sun and a bunch of hyenas. Then I saw some zebras and an ostrich. When I said ostrich, it sounds a little like “Oscar” which is a Sesame Street character I love. We went to the ZOO! Here I am looking at the big cats habitat. I was pointing to something and Daddy kept trying to figure out what it was. We got to see some Lions, Tigers and Leopards. I growled just like they do. We also saw seals in the water and I wanted to get in and swim with them, but Mommy and Daddy said the water was too dirty. Talk about dirty; here we are looking a Mommy and baby hippo lying in the mud! We also saw some elephants. I kept telling Daddy that there was a ball, but he didn’t know what I was talking about until the elephant started playing with the ball in his habitat. Overall, it was a very fun day. I got this fun new hat that says Denver Zoo. I got to pick it out at the gift shop. It has an elephant on it. I definitely want to go back to the zoo soon!

At the park with Daddy

Daddy stays home with me on Wednesdays. Sometimes we have to go to his office for a little while anyway. I usually just play in Mommy’s office with her chess set and color on paper that she has in a special drawer for me. After having to spend a little while at the office, Daddy and I went home. He surprised me on the way and stopped at a little park. I had fun going down the slide all by myself. The plastic was a little hot, so I stood at the top and blew on it like I do my cereal in the morning. I also like to yell my name down the slide because it sounds funny echoing off the sides of the slide.

“Daddy Sick!”

Last week Daddy and I both got the stomach flu at the same time. Mommy was sure glad that all three of us didn’t have it at the same time so that one of us was good enough to take care of the other two. Well, for days after I was talking about being sick and kept saying “daddy sick”. Five days later I told Gram and Stacey when we were out to lunch with Mommy that Daddy was sick. They assured me that he was better. I was glad and had some celebratory olives (“ovivs”) at Romano’s. Stacey and I were putting them on our fingers and eating them off. I even ate one off Stacey’s finger.

Blanket for Liam

Mommy, Daddy, Nanny, Aunt Stacey, Gram and Grandma Sue are all working together on little striped knitted squares for a blanket for my little brother Liam who isn’t born yet. Aunt Stacey and Mommy spent a lot of time looking at yarn and finally got some to get started. Each of the squares is going to be “brown and…” which is what Stacey and Mommy call them. There are 6 colors of yarn that will be matched with a brown. Aunt Stacey came over to our house to wind the yarn for the blanket. It was fascinating watching her use the ball winder and swift. I liked helping her. Then she let me take over the project. Here is a picture of all of the balls of yarn and two of the squares that Daddy and Stacey knit up as samples. The blanket is going to be really cool when it’s done.

Ready for Easter

I didn’t realize it, because I was so focused on the Nemo nightgown and gorilla, but I got my Easter outfit today too. Nanny made me this dress and purse to match. She bought me the socks and shoes and Mommy got me the bolero jacket at Target. The most amazing part about it is that Nanny didn’t even have to use a pattern to make the dress. Mommy and Gram were super impressed with that.

Aquatic Obsession

I’m not sure when it was, but Mommy and Daddy recently introduced me to a movie masterpiece I like to call “Nemo.” I would truly watch “Finding Nemo” three times a day, every day if they let me. Today, Aunt Stacey brought me the coolest thing ever! A Nemo nightgown. I had to put it on right away. You can see that I’m also holding a stuffed gorilla, which I got in the mail from Nanny and Grandpa Tom. What an awesome day!!!!

Tea Anyone?

Gram was with me today and to my surprise we got to see Grandma Sue too. Gram and I went in her car (with my new car-seat she bought just for me) out to Grandma Sue and Grandpa Murray’s house. I sat on Grandpa Murray’s lap and they got a picture of me so that they could print it out for him. I also got to play with a little china tea set that Grandma Sue has had for a long time. Mommy says she remembers playing with it when she was a little girl too. Grandma Sue showed me how to be real gentle with it. Then I was pouring tea, daintily, for everyone there. I had fun playing with it and hope Grandma Sue lets me play with it again soon. When we got back to my house I took a nap and spent some time with my “girls”. They are these funny Trollz girls with colorful hair that Mommy got me from “Donalds” (McDonalds). I like them because I can hold all 5 of them at the same time and brush their funny hair.

Cousin Alyssa

Mommy got these pictures of my cousin Alyssa today and I thought I’d post them to show just how big she is getting. Mommy said she gave her some of the socks that Alyssa has on her feet. I thought it was pretty funny that she likes to wear all of her socks at the same time. Every once in a while I talk about Alyssa with Mommy. I even pretended to talk to her on the phone the other day with no prompting from Mommy. I think we’re going to get to play together sometime in May, I’m so excited to see her!
