Bob, Sugar and A Tractor

Nanny and Grandpa Tom have 2 dogs. Their names are Bob and sugar. Bob is my favorite because his name is easy to say. I like sugar too though. While we were visiting them, I frequently found anyone I could and would drag them over to the back door of the house, say “woof, woof, woof” (my way of saying I want to see the dogs or go outside). Sometimes this worked and sometimes it didn’t. Nanny was definitely the most cooperative. On Friday, it was really cold, but Nanny let me go outside. (Yea for grandmas the world over, what would we do without them!) Here we are, all bundled up and headed outside. Bob is the black lab sitting by nanny and Sugar is out off the porch. For a while we walked around the yard and the driveway - we walked down to where Nanny is going to plant corn and has blackberry bushes. Then, the dogs and I needed a rest so I sat down by Grandpa Tom’s workshop and rested with Bob and Sugar. When we got up, I tried to pet Bob, but he kept on trying to play with me and was a little scary. Good thing Nanny was there to hide between her legs. After a while, Nanny and I went to explore Grandpa Tom’s tractor. I got to sit right on the drivers seat. It was really fun! Mommy took a bunch of pictures because she said I looked so cute. Then it was time to see where Nanny is wintering the rest of her garden plants. There is sawdust on top of where her asparagus will grow and I thought that was pretty fun to put my hands in. Mommy said we’d have to wash my mittens, but that’s okay, I don’t think she minded! Finally it was time to go inside. I found Nanny’s red boots in her closet and she let me try them on. What a fun day! I was definitely tired when it was time for bed that night!

Instruments and Animals

Nanny and Grandpa Tom moved out of the city of Springfield into the country last Fall. I got to really appreciate that when we were there over the Christmas/New Year holiday. I got to tromp around in the woods and see nature and animals up close. One day, when Mommy was taking a nap and I was refusing one, Daddy and Nanny took me on a walk up to a neighbors house to see some horses. This one got a little close for comfort and I didn’t like it too well, but it was fun seeing them. The dogs came with us and Bob got a little close to the horse and it bit him, which scared me a little bit too. I didn’t cry though, I was too fascinated by what was going on! Mommy and Daddy don’t usually let me have my paci (pacifier) unless I’m going to sleep, but I got to have it this day because I was at Nanny and Grandpa Tom’s house. I really like to hang out with them. That same day, Grammy and Grandpa LD came over to visit a while. I entertained them with my vast knowledge of drums and xylophones. They were very impressed! Daddy and Grandpa Tom also finished a little project they had been working on for me and my doll, Connie. This is the special bed they built for us. What a fun thing that will be to play with! We had a fun day, and after I finally took my nap, I was in a pretty good mood. I love my family!

Christmas Days

In Colorado the Beaches celebrated Christmas at Gram and Papa’s house. Gram and Aunt Jackee wore their Bronco Santa hats and sported Blue and Orange, while Uncle Buddy supported the Kansas City Chiefs. Grandma Sue and Stacey had fun looking at a book about, what else, Crafty Stuff! There weren’t any pictures of Papa or Grandpa Murray, I guess they had a good Christmas too though. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Back in Missouri, we had a fun Christmas morning. Mommy dressed me up in a little red velvet outfit with white collar, I looked very Santa’s Little Helper-ish. Here I am with Grandpa Tom, he got a scarf from Uncle Ryan so he’s safe in the woods during hunting season. Then, I thought it would be fun to get in a box and Uncle Ryan pushed me around the living room in it. What fun it was to play with all the wrapping and toys and boxes on Christmas morning. Later that day we all went to Grammy Silvey’s house for dinner and more presents. It was fun to have a whole new audience to perform for. I got to eat lots of crackers and I begged and begged for more jalapeño cheese spread, but for some reason Mommy only let me have a little bit. Unfortunately Mommy and Daddy and Nanny all forgot their cameras, so there aren’t any pictures from that night.

My cousin Alyssa

I haven’t seen my cousin Alyssa since September when we were in Missouri for the Doulos 25 Year Reunion. Her mommy sent my mommy these pictures, so I thought I’d post them. This one is from December 3rd and it is of Alyssa and her mommy. She has a lot of hair to put in pigtails. She looks so cute in this one! This one is from December 11th and it is of Alyssa and her daddy. What a fun coat and hat she has on. Mommy says it looks a little bit like Strawberry Shortcake dolls from when she was little. I finally got to see Alyssa again at Christmas time. Here we are in the bath together in Kansas City before we left to drive down to Nanny and Grandpa Tom’s house. I was glad to get to see her!!

Christmas before Christmas!

This Christmas we are going to Nanny and Grandpa Tom’s new house in Missouri. We decided that we didn’t want to miss out on Christmas morning with the Beach family, so we’re having 2 Christmas’. I’m not complaining, it makes the presents last that much longer! The day that Mommy, Daddy and I left for Missouri, we spent the morning at Gram and Papa’s house with Aunt Stacey, Uncle Buddy, Aunt Jackee. Grandma Sue and Grandpa. We had our traditional Christmas breakfast and then opened gifts. It was super fun. Here I am laughing with Uncle Buddy and giving Uncle Buddy and Aunt Jackee a hug. I miss them when they’re gone in Indianapolis, but I’m so glad we got to spend some time with them while they were in Colorado! Grandma Sue and I played on the rocking Elephant that Gram got before I was even born. I like to rock on it and hold onto the ears all by myself. I had a lot of fun that morning! Gram got out the reindeer antlers and I wore them around the house for a short time while I read books. Aunt Stacey gave me a collection of Sesame Street books that are small and fit right in my hand. I love to look at them, dump them out and rearrange them in the little box they came in. Aunt Stacey knows just what I like! I got a lot of great toys at my Christmas before Christmas morning. Grandma Sue gave me a really neat shopping cart, Santa gave me some cute little kittens and bottles for my doll, Gram and Papa gave me a little scooter to ride around on and I also got some awesome legos from them. Daddy and Aunt Stacey love the legos! Every year Gram gets matching pajamas for all the girls in the family and then we take a picture of all of us. Grandma Sue made my pj’s out of a small pair of grown-up pajamas, she’s so talented. I thought it would be fun to steal the show and get the attention on me, so I started to stick my face through the wrung of the railing. Gram is holding me, next to her is Jackee in the back, Stacey in the front, Mommy then Grandma Sue. I love these ladies! I had a lot of fun with the Beach family. I had a great Christmas and thanks for having a Christmas before Christmas just for me!

At Daddy’s Friend’s House

Back in October we went over to Petra and Andy’s house for dinner. Petra is Daddy’s friend from school. They had a piano that I had fun playing with Daddy. When it came time to put on my pajamas I was too wiggly for Daddy to catch me, so I ran around in my diaper for a while. I had fun running away from Daddy. Eventually I decided to “fix” the refrigerator for Petra and Andy. I had a screwdriver and everything. I also played with their cat. It let me get a lot closer than our cat does. I finally went to sleep while Mommy and Daddy hung out a little more. It was a very fun night!

Fun at Hometown Buffet

Mommy was in the mood for mashed potatoes and so Mommy, Aunt Stacey and I went to a really great restaurant called Hometown Buffet. Mommy didn’t even end up eating hardly anything and Aunt Stacey said I ate my weight in food there. I especially liked the corn on the cob. I took it right off of Aunt Stacey’s plate, but she didn’t mind because she loves me! I got the balloon from a nice lady who works there. I kept checking during dinner to make sure that it was still attached to my chair. I also got to try Jello for the first time. Guess what? I loved it! My mommy showed me how it jiggles and that made me laugh.
