Mommy is SO excited!
This morning Mommy finally got her wish. She got me to hold still and my hair is long enough to wear little pigtails. I only wore them for a VERY short time, but I looked super cute.

My Aunt Stacey loves to read. So does Nanny, Grandpa Tom, Grandma Sue and Mommy (when I give her a chance). Daddy reads a lot of books for school and likes to read other stuff when he has time and isn’t knitting. I too am a book lover. If I get a chance I’ll ask you to read me a book over just about anything. The other day I was at Aunt Stacey’s house and I realized that she has hundreds and hundreds of books, not to mention the bucket of books that she has out for me that are just for me. She has a special chair that I can sit in to look at my books and everything! I especially like little books that are easy to hold, but any book will do. While I was at her house I got out some big-girl books and wanted Stacey to read them to me. I was especially interested in Harry Potter. I’ve heard so much about it and Mommy and Aunt Stacey both knitted Harry Potter scarves, so I wanted to see what the big deal was all about. I didn’t like it too much because there are no pictures, but I did like sitting on Stacey’s lap and having her read to me! Aunt Stacey’s house is much more fun than my house! I’m glad that there are so many books to read. I love to look at the pictures and can’t wait until I can read them myself.
I love jewelry! I love to look at what kind of jewelry everyone is wearing and sometimes I get excited and try to pull on it. Grandma knows how much I love jewelry and so the other day she brought me a beautiful pair of earrings the I can wear because they are clip-on. I think they were hers, I’m not sure why she would want to part with them, they’re so awesome. Anyway, I was totally bored while Mommy and Daddy were redecorating the house for something called Christmas and so I got out my earrings. Here I am playing with Daddy’s tape measure wearing them. What fun it is being a girl!
There is a new and exciting toy I have discovered. It’s called a swing. I guess I’ve had it since I was born, but never did I realize the fun that I could have in it. Mommy says I used to scream and cry after about 30 seconds in it, but now I love it. Mommy also says I’m really almost too big for it, but I don’t care. It’s the feeling of the wind in my hair and the tick tock of the automatic swingy thing that I love the most. Not to mention bringing my dolls along for a ride. Sometimes I even put my dolls in by themselves and turn it on to give them a ride. Mostly I give rides to my favorite doll, Connie. She loves the swing and is the most frequent passenger. I don’t necessarily like to swing for too long and sometimes I can’t make up my mind if I want in or out. Thanksgiving day was one such occasion. Daddy was going to get me out, but I really just wanted a book to read in the swing. Thanksgiving was pretty fun, I went over to Grandma and Papa’s house and got to eat lots of good food and play with Grandma Sue, Aunt Stacey and Grandma. We were hanging out in the kitchen and having a few laughs. Unfortunately Mommy was asleep on the couch and Daddy was watching the game so I didn’t get any pictures of the occasion. Oh well, maybe next time.
I’m not exactly sure what this means yet, but I’m going to be a big sister. Mommy says I’m going to be great at it, but what does she expect? Of course I will! Mommy also said that this is a picture of the baby, but I think it just looks like a blob. Oh well, I trust her. If being a big sister is as much fun as playing with all my stuffed animals and dolls, which I dragged out into the hall today and lined up to play with, then I’ll love it. I have a sneaking feeling that it may be a little different though.
The other day I stopped by Aunt Stacey’s house to visit Jesse. He’s not like our cat, Cyrano, he actually lets me get close to him. Here I am saying hello. The same day, I also went to KFC for lunch. Here I am sitting on the Colonel’s lap. He was a little scary, but Mommy thought it was hilarious that there was a statue of him and she said Daddy would get a kick out of it too. Daddy has been on a trip and I miss him very much. This has been a short entry, but there isn’t much else to say about cats and colonels.
I spend a lot of days at home with my Grandma and Grandma Sue and some days with Daddy and Mommy. Here are a few pictures of me at home. This first one is not Daddy’s favorite, since I’m wearing a Bronco’s sweat-suit, but Grandma and Aunt Jackee think it’s pretty cute. I’m making a wrinkle-nose smiley face. In this one I’m actually crying a little bit because I’m not getting my way, but before I was reading my sippy-cup book to my doll Connie. The other day Grandma Sue was wearing a bowlo tie and she let me try it on. I was having so much fun taking it on and off. I pretty much love jewelry of any kind. Mommy, Grandma and Stacey stopped by at lunch time and this is a picture of me almost falling off the couch, but there were three great ladies there to stop me.
Mommy and Aunt Stacey had a Harry Potter Marathon the week before the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie came out. We went to Aunt Stacey’s house in the morning and I got to eat a donut hole. It was very good. There were 10 to 15 people there over the course of the day. I mostly just ran around and begged for food off of everyone’s plate. I mostly at the dill dip with lots of onion. It was definitely my favorite thing at the party. Daddy took me home mid-day for lunch and a nap. When I came back I played with more of the people and got to see another baby-friend. Her name is Kalena and she is very little, but she was fun to see. Maybe when she gets older we can play together.
Mommy and Stacey went to lunch the other day at one of their favorite Vietnamese places for lunch. I fell asleep in the car and didn’t wake up until after Mommy and Aunt Stacey had ordered their food and received it. Here I am asleep in Mommy’s lap while she is eating her noodles. I was really tired!! Here I am once I woke up. I was trying a bean sprout and found it to be kind of yucky. I loved the rice and chicken though. I also like to eat spaghetti at Romano’s. In the pictures below, Mommy tried to capture me with both my fingers up my nose, but I was too quick for her. You can see my fingers in the ready position and then in my mouth, which Mommy also thought was pretty funny. I really like the sauce, as you can see by my face.
One of Daddy’s favorite things is fall football. His team is the Kansas City Chiefs. Today, the Chiefs were playing the Raiders so everyone in Denver was rooting for the Chiefs too. So, when I wore my Chiefs cheerleader outfit to church this morning even our pastor was ok with it (and that’s saying something because he’s a big Broncos fan). It was even better because the Chiefs won the game in the last 5 seconds with a touchdown on the 1 yard line. Yes, you might be asking how I know so much about football? Well, since I was a tiny baby Daddy has been teaching me all about football. I have learned about the on-side kick, screen pass and two-point conversion. I’m going to be an expert by the time I head off to school. Well, this post is called “Favorite Things,” and although I love football with Daddy, my favorite thing is bath time. Every night I get a bath because I love them so much. In fact, I usually get a bath after I’m done eating dinner and have played for a little while. I know the sign for bath and I say “ba, ba, ba” when I’m ready to take one. Sometimes I try to trick Mommy and Daddy by signing and saying bath after lunch or before dinner. They usually don’t fall for it, but it’s worth a try. I love taking a bath. (I also love my giraffe towel.)
