Well, it’s official…

I think I’m only going to take one nap a day now. Mommy is not too pleased about this fact, but I’m not budging. About a week ago I started protesting afternoon naps and going to sleep at night. I’m not sure why I didn’t always do this. I get in on so much more fun this way. The difference is that I’m more tired at night so I go to bed earlier than I used to. Which is okay, I guess. So my new schedule is to take one nap around lunchtime and then get to bed between 6 and 7 at night. I’m still sleeping through the night but I am waking up a little earlier than I was before. Daddy doesn’t get too excited about that either. My naps aren’t very long though, and Mommy hopes that won’t last. Oh well, I’m a complicated little girl. I like to keep Mommy and Daddy guessing. After my nap today, I got a surprise visit from my friend Hanna and her Mommy. We are both only children right now (Hanna is having a little brother in September though). I’m not sure what this sharing thing is, but neither one of us like it too well. Hannah is a year older than me and she can move a lot better than I can too. Once today she took one of my books and ran to the other side of the room with it. I didn’t like that too well at all. For the most part we played well together. I am a little jealous that Hanna can talk though. Aunt Stacey was saying, “Hi Buddy” to me and Hanna repeated her over and over and laughed each time. She was having so much fun. I think I would like to play that game with Aunt Stacey. Here is a picture of Hanna saying “Hi Buddy” and laughing. I really like to play with other kids, so even if Hanna and I have a crash-course in sharing when were together I’m okay with it. The other thing I wanted to tell everyone about is that I’m picking up some more signs lately. I’ve pretty much mastered more and fan and light and all done. But this week Daddy was carrying me downstairs for breakfast and I did the sign for eat. I’ve also started saying Mama and Dada when I want my Mommy or Daddy. They think that is pretty darn cool. I also have been saying “Uh Oh” for the thousands of times that I drop stuff on the floor. Mommy also thinks that I’ve said cat and Tay Tay (for Aunt Stacey) and maybe Pa Pa (for my PaPa Grandpa Beach, but that’s really a long shot). Mostly I’ve enjoyed copying the sounds I hear. I’m also really scooting along holding on to the furniture. It won’t be long before I’m walking, but in the meantime, I’m a sprint-crawler and furniture-walker. That’s all for now, check back soon for more adventures of me, Alice.
