Today after work Daddy and I had a lot of fun playing in my room. We had a little wrestling match and I laughed and laughed. I love it when Daddy hangs me upside down. Daddy has been so busy with school lately that its nice to spend as much time with him as I can. He’s going to be done with his summer classes soon and we’re going on vacation with my cousin Alyssa and her parents. It will be so great to spend all that time with Daddy. I’m not complaining, Mommy says I should be very proud of Daddy because he is really smart and gets really good grades (not sure what those are) and he still spends a lot of quality time with us. I sure love my Daddy!
Before Daddy got home (he worked a little bit late at work tonight) Mommy laid out a bunch of clothes she got on sale for me for next summer. They were really cheap and cute. She was laying them out so that she could take pictures and send them to Alyssa’s Mommy to see if she wants some for next year too. Once she was done with the pictures I kept on pulling them out of the chair in my room while she was trying to fold them up and put them away. I was having fun being ornery. I love to pull clean stuff out of laundry baskets or where Mommy keeps dish towels and throw them on the floor.
I haven’t posted in a while because Mommy has been busy, and she usually helps me. She was busy last weekend with a baby shower for her friend Kimiko. Kimiko is having a little girl and is due Aug 22nd. Mommy did the food for the shower with an Asian theme. Here are some pictures of the table and the food. I went too, we had fun. The big hits of the day were the “dessert sushi” and the chicken skewers stuck in a pineapple. You can see in the pictures how the table was decorated. There was fruit, veggies and california rolls too. Mommy had a lot of fun making the day special for her friend!
Well, that’s about it. Oh, wait, I almost forgot! I’m testing out standing on my own. I don’t do it all the time and more often if I’m distracted by a cool toy. Of course, Mommy tried to take a picture of me today, but I was too tired by the time she got the camera out and ready. So here I am leaning on a table in my room, but if you were to imagine that the table was not there, that’s what I look like, kinda. I’m such a big girl!
Well, now that’s it for real. L8r (that’s “later” if you’re cool, I learned that from my Uncle Buddy.)

I think I’m only going to take one nap a day now. Mommy is not too pleased about this fact, but I’m not budging. About a week ago I started protesting afternoon naps and going to sleep at night. I’m not sure why I didn’t always do this. I get in on so much more fun this way. The difference is that I’m more tired at night so I go to bed earlier than I used to. Which is okay, I guess. So my new schedule is to take one nap around lunchtime and then get to bed between 6 and 7 at night. I’m still sleeping through the night but I am waking up a little earlier than I was before. Daddy doesn’t get too excited about that either. My naps aren’t very long though, and Mommy hopes that won’t last. Oh well, I’m a complicated little girl. I like to keep Mommy and Daddy guessing.
After my nap today, I got a surprise visit from my friend Hanna and her Mommy.
We are both only children right now (Hanna is having a little brother in September though). I’m not sure what this sharing thing is, but neither one of us like it too well. Hannah is a year older than me and she can move a lot better than I can too. Once today she took one of my books and ran to the other side of the room with it. I didn’t like that too well at all. For the most part we played well together.
I am a little jealous that Hanna can talk though. Aunt Stacey was saying, “Hi Buddy” to me and Hanna repeated her over and over and laughed each time. She was having so much fun. I think I would like to play that game with Aunt Stacey. Here is a picture of Hanna saying “Hi Buddy” and laughing.
I really like to play with other kids, so even if Hanna and I have a crash-course in sharing when were together I’m okay with it. The other thing I wanted to tell everyone about is that I’m picking up some more signs lately. I’ve pretty much mastered more and fan and light and all done. But this week Daddy was carrying me downstairs for breakfast and I did the sign for eat. I’ve also started saying Mama and Dada when I want my Mommy or Daddy. They think that is pretty darn cool. I also have been saying “Uh Oh” for the thousands of times that I drop stuff on the floor. Mommy also thinks that I’ve said cat and Tay Tay (for Aunt Stacey) and maybe Pa Pa (for my PaPa Grandpa Beach, but that’s really a long shot). Mostly I’ve enjoyed copying the sounds I hear. I’m also really scooting along holding on to the furniture. It won’t be long before I’m walking, but in the meantime, I’m a sprint-crawler and furniture-walker. That’s all for now, check back soon for more adventures of me, Alice.

What a fun treat. Today Mommy went with me to the library. She was very excited to go to Story Box with me. I introduced her to all my friends and the library ladies. The story teller read stories about animals and being on the farm. It was very fun, then we each got to pick a book to read. This time Mommy read me a book about counting. She is doing the sign for duck and telling me about the 4 ducks on the pond.
I wish Mommy could come with me every time.
Aunt Stacey and Daddy are part of an organization (that they made up) called S.A.C. Society for the Appreciation of Candy. They mostly just want an excuse to try out new candies all the time. Today, I was officially initiated into the club. At least that’s what Aunt Stacey said! Here I am studying up for my membership.
I love spending time with Aunt Stacey. She is always letting me do fun stuff.

OK, so most of my posts lately are about swimming, but I have to admit, I LOVE SWIMMING.
This weekend, we went to my Grandma Sue’s house on Saturday afternoon and went swimming in her pool. After I had a nap and ate some lunch we headed over to her house. Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Stacey ate lunch at her house and then we walked up to the pool. It was super hot out and the cool water felt good. It is definitely colder water than the pool in our neighborhood. We got out after a little while because the sun was behind the clouds and it was getting windy. I don’t know why Mommy and Daddy thought that just because I was shivering and had goose-bumps that I wanted to get out. After swimming we played for a few minutes on the chairs around the pool. Here I am trying to climb up the back of the chair.
Mommy kept holding me back - how annoying. She thought I might fall, but I’m pretty adventurous and totally capable.
You can see Daddy in the background of the picture. He is fun to swim with!

Thursdays I spend time with Daddy before he goes to class. I had a good day with him and then Mommy came home. After my nap and dinner, Mommy met Aunt Stacey and Genia at El Portal so they could eat dinner. The best part about it was that there was a lady who played the guitar and sang to me while everybody ate. She played a little song about chickens for me and I got super excited.
Mommy said that it was a good thing to distract me while she had a chance to eat her dinner. I did eat some of my cheerios and Mommy gave me some beans at the restaurant. I love that place.
Other than that, not much to report from yesterday. Mommy says I’m being a pill about going to sleep, but I just don’t like to miss any of the fun. I’m having such a rough time going to sleep that my voice is hoarse today from screaming in my crib at night. I think Mommy might be at her wits end, so I’ll try to be better tonight (sometimes I have to just act like a baby though).

I had a huge day on Tuesday, not only did I go to the library with Aunt Stacey in the morning, but I also went to the pool with Mommy and Aunt Stacey at lunchtime. Every time I even get inside the pool gate I get so excited about swimming that my arms and legs start flailing uncontrollably. I love to splash - that’s my pool specialty, but I also love to jump off the side of the pool into Mommy’s arms and play in my new inner-tube. Mommy is also working hard to get me comfortable floating on my back, it’s not my favorite, but I’m getting much better at it. The pool is great!

Today, Grandma Sue brought by some visors that she bought at Michael’s. She let me try them all on. Which one do you like best?
I’m partial to the pink one, but its so hard to decide. If I were like my Grandma, I’d take one in each color!

Aunt Stacey and I have a new tradition.
Every Tuesday we go the library. Today I discovered the giant bear. You can see that its beary, beary tall!
Taller than me for sure. I smiled and laughed and bit my tongue I was so excited.
When it was time to go I gave the bear a hug and kiss.
Mommy shared these pictures with Ross , Evrett’s daddy, and he sent her a picture of Evrett that I thought was pretty fun. He is such a big boy who can sit up so well now. Pretty cool friend! Mommy and Evrett’s mommy tease about him being my boyfriend, but he’s really way too young for me! :)
This month is my Grandma and Papa’s 32nd wedding anniversary. That is a very long time. They are so cute in this picture that Aunt Stacey took of them.
Happy day to all who read my blog!

Last weekend was a hot one. Saturday Mommy, Daddy, Aunt Stacey , RayLynn and Grandma went to the “Paris Street Market ” by our house at Aspen Grove. It was super hot. I was wearing a cool outfit until they made me wear this stupid hat that Mommy got me from the Denver Zoo . I mean, I know I look adorable in it, but I was already all greased-up with sunscreen and then they made me super sweaty with this hat.
It was really sunny, but even so it was still fun watching all the people and the other kids from my stroller. I have a fun stroller that fits me and my doll, Connie, and my sippy cup and even snacks or other toys if I want them. Mommy says the best part about it is the cup holders for her and Daddy’s coffee.
Later that day, Daddy went to play golf with Ross, Evrett’s Daddy , and Mommy and Katie and Evrett and I went to lunch at the Platte River Bar and Grill. We had a great lunch. I ate all my veggies, yogurt and fruit. Mommy says it looks like I’m eating BBQ sauce when I eat prunes. What do you think?
I was excited about eating and did the sign for “more.”
I know, it looks like I’m clapping, but Mommy knows the difference. Saturday afternoon we went swimming, and I had fun at the pool in my new floaty thing. I don’t have any pictures of it, but it is like a little inner-tube inside a bigger inner-tube. Daddy had a not-so-fun time after he played golf, because our car battery died and he had to get a jump from Grandma and then buy a new battery.
Sunday, we went to church and I had a fun time in the nursery with the other kids. I think I’m just about ready to move up to the toddler room. I think it will be a lot more fun than hanging out with newborns. (No offense to Evrett, who is still in the nursery) Monday was the 4th of July. Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Stacey went to breakfast at the Original Pancake House , which I’ve heard is really great. Someday I’ll be able to eat pancakes. We just chilled at home for the afternoon and then went to Paul and Kimiko’s house for dinner. They are going to have a baby of their own soon! The only bad thing about the evening was when the neighbor set off this little miniature cannon and it was very loud and scared me. Mommy and Daddy had a great time visiting with their friends. I’m going to loan some of my clothes and toys to Kimiko’s baby when she is born. I’m such a good girl! Happy 4th of July everyone!
